Friday 20th August saw Leek Golf Club playing host to Stafford Castle in our annual mixed friendly 4BBB match play competition.

10 teams took to the course which was in great condition and a credit to our greens staff. The weather was kind to us and not a drop of rain about.

After the match everyone sat down together to enjoy an excellent meal. Mervin, Tracy and the team did themselves and the Golf Club proud. The atmosphere in the club house was fabulous with banter from both teams. I must not forget the special birthday of Nick Damjanovic and the caterpillar birthday cake!

Mr Captain (Arthur Doherty) gave a humorous speech and then handed over to Julia Causer Lady Captain of Stafford Castle for the much anticipated results.

Leek 8 Stafford Castle 2 and as Julia said, they came second.

We look forward to the return match in 2022.

The results are in, the favourite 18 holes from affiliated Staffs golf clubs have been voted for by Staffs golfers, see attached.

I'm sure your club members will want to know the results.

What do we know so far....

When golf returns on Monday the 29th March we can .....

- play golf up to 4balls.

- have outdoor coaching on a 1:1 basis.

- have group coaching to the Rule of 6 (group of 6 including the coaches and volunteers).

- have outdoor fitting on a 1:1 basis or to the Rule of 6 including the fitter.

- use indoor toilets and wash basins.
