Having retired from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service after more than 30 years' service, I have been a member of Leek Golf Club for the last six years. I feel incredibly privileged to have been invited to be the Captain of such a prestigious club.
I am confident that our new board of directors will oversee what is an exciting time of change. To bring us into the modern world of golf, where more people are playing – but fewer people are actually joining a club – it is especially important to me to encourage more families into our wonderful sport.
I am delighted to announce that my Vice Captain will be Kevin Perkins, a great friend of the club. Kevin is someone who has spared a lot of his own time to ensure the wellbeing of members remains the highest priority, and I look forward to working alongside him.
My primary goal this year is to continue to improve the condition of the course - which is already a high standard - and to ensure that we carry on being ‘Queen of the Moorlands’.
Whether you’re a beginner, looking to perfect that putting stroke, or someone trying to bring your handicap down, our on-site professional Greg is available to help players of all abilities. We have a range of packages to suit your individual needs, more details are available on the website.
In closing, I would like to wish all the members of Leek Golf Club an enjoyable year of golf and I look forward to seeing you all out on our stunning fairways.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
