Junior Section

In case anyone hasn’t seen me around the golf club, my name is Theo Kirtley and I’ve been very lucky to be chosen as the Junior Captain for the 2024 season here at Leek Golf Club. I would like to say a big well done to Lewis Foxall who was an amazing captain for the 2023 season and to congratulate him on his awesome new handicap.

I absolutely love spending as much time as possible here on the course (thank goodness lighter nights are coming), hoping to improve my game and making friends along the way.

It’s a great environment for the juniors and with all the hard work Matt & Greg have put in I’m sure ours must be one of the best junior sections around. They have made it more fun and more inclusive for all of the juniors and it’s a club I’m really proud to be part of.

I will do my best to be a good role model for all the juniors and hope they all feel I’m approachable if they needed my help in any way or just someone to talk to.

I would like to try and raise some money for the Douglas Macmillan charity this year and I hope this is something that you will all feel is a good idea and you can help me with.

I’m really looking forward to the year ahead, and I’m confident that we can make Leek Golf Club proud of its Junior Section in the forthcoming competitions.  And I wish all the other Captains here at Leek Golf Club a super year.
