Another fine day of weather greeted those competing in the Kath Dean Trophy and Bayley Trophy on Tuesday 22nd August 2013. 6 Ladies played in the Kathe Dean Trophy. This is a Trophy donated to the Ladies Section for the Silver Division Players to compete for and is played over 36 holes, handicaps 1-20. Personally I think this Trophy is one of the best to win, played over 36 holes in one day it is a great test of golf and endurance. As someone who struggles to put two holes of good play together, never-mind 36, I think it's fair to say I have never won this and am never likely to ! But I have huge respect for those Ladies who play in this competition.
There were some excellent scores in the morning with the lowest Nett score being a 71 by Dorothie Cowburn who birdied the 3rd 4th and 5th Holes ! Jenny cordon managed a birdie on the 9th, well done ladies. the lowest Gross score of the morning was a 78 by Jo Peacock, nett score 74.
In the afternoon round Jo again had the lowestt gross of 77, nett 73. Jenny Cordon recorded a good nett 75. Overall the CSS of the competition was 71. The winner on a count-back between Jenny Cordon and Jo Peacock was Jo. Congratulations to Jo, very well played. Commiserations to Jenny for just missing out. Well played to all those competing.
The Bayley Trophy also played on this day is for the ladies in the Bronze Division, handicap's 21-36, 22 ladies took part. The winner was Gill Armstrong with a very good nett 73, this on a count-back with Karen Wilshaw. Karen also had the lowest Gross on the day of 95. Very well played to both ladies.
