NOTICE TO MEMBERS
PERSONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
In the Niddry Castle case a golfer was found to be 70% (£280,000) liable for serious injury caused to a fellow golfer by a miss-hit shot and the Club 30% (£120,000) liable for inadequate signage of the foreseeable danger.
Your Management Committee decided that it would be in the best interests of Leek Golf Club and all members to explore the possibility of arranging personal liability cover for members, en bloc, through the club’s insurers.
I am pleased to report that this has now been arranged and all members are covered for personal liability whilst playing golf anywhere in the world.
Also, all visitors to Leek Golf Club are covered whilst playing golf at Leek which, in effect, guarantees that all golfers playing at Leek carry insurance for personal liability.
The Premium, which equates to less than £3 per member, is to be financed through general club funds.
NOTE: The cover only includes personal liability and does not include loss or damage to equipment etc.
