Spring sunshine greeted the ladies who entered the first medal of the year on Tuesday 11th March, and all thoughts of waterproofs and thick jumpers were forgotten. However the course did not give up easily and faster greens lead to tricky rounds for most of the competitors.
In Silver Division Jo Peacock just managed to edge out Wendy Thornhill with Paula Parkes coming in third. All the three ended up with a score of 75 nett with final positions decided on countback.
In the Bronze Division Linda Forrister took first place with a score of 75 nett, this was good enough to beat Frances Lilley who came 2nd with a score of 76 and Sandra Blairs finished third after countback against Janet Gilbert and Doreen Cooper with a score of 78.
The high scoring amongst the other competitors produced a CSS of 74 and meant the competition became “reduction only” and resulted in nobody having their handicap changed.
