The sun was shining on Wednesday the 9^th July 2014 and Leek Golf Club welcomed 35 pairs of ladies to our Annual Ladies Open.  The format was a 4BBB Stableford Competition played off ¾ handicaps.  Ladies from Derbyshire, Cheshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire played in this annual event. The course was in excellent condition and comments from the visitors were very favourable.

The winners on the day with an excellent score of 41 pts  were Jenny Cordon from Leek and Jenny Smaile from Whittington Heath. 

In 2^nd place beaten by the 2 Jennies on countback were Lindsey Pinson and Glynis Brittain also with 41pts from Aston Wood.

In 3^rd place Sheila Parkin and Waveny Croson from Alfreton came in with 40 pts on countback.

4^th place were Barbara McDowell and Pat Tait from Bramhall Park and Marple with 40 pts.

5^th place were Sue Simmons and Marsh Button from Sandwell and Nuneaton with 37 pts on countback.

In 6^th place were Alison Smith and Jayne Cooper  from Whittington Heath also with 37 pts.

Congratulations and well played to all the winners.

Thanks are also extended to our Club Captain Dave Gallimore for acting as our starter and Lady Captain Karen Griffiths who was in attendance all day. Also a big thank you to all the members and staff who helped to make the day a success.  Everyone’s  help is much appreciated.

Lastly but not least a very big thankyou to all the ladies who took part in our Open Competition.

We hope to see you all again in 2015.
