CONGRATULATIONS must go to NEL BOULTON, DOT COWBURN, ALI and DEB BARNETT for completing the “Run for it!” 10k & 5k Family Fun Run on Sunday 10^th May in Trentham Gardens.

I was delighted when Deb, Ali and Nel decided that they were going to participate in the 5K run in aid of my charity. So, sponsor forms at the ready and pen in hand, I approached quite a number of members for their support and sponsorship of the ladies’ efforts. I’m pleased to say that all those I approached readily gave to the cause and bolstered confidence levels when they were informed, ‘you can’t chicken out now!’Late into the fray came Dot, who decided to run the 10K race at the last minute and personally raised a magnificent £300 of the total £747.50 cash received!!

Added to this, a ‘Just Giving’ account was opened by the ladies on the web and that also raised a further £60, which has gone directly to the charity, ‘Donna Louise Children’s Hospice’.

Many, many thanks must go to all who have supported and needless to say the ladies too.
