On Tuesday 28th May 2013 11 ladies bravely tackled the weather as well as the golf course to compete in the Air Ambulance Charity Competition. The morning ladies had slightly the better of the weather but well done to those who did don their wet suits and trundle down the fairways. I have to be honest I wasn't one of them, preferring to stay dry indoors.
The winner was Pam Glaves who scored 35 points which in the conditions was very impressive indeed. Very well done Pam. Karen Wilshaw was second with 32 points.
What a difference a week makes. Tuesday 4th June 2013 and 35 ladies took to the course to play the June Medal. Clear blue skies, blazing sunshine, my goodness it was certainly a tale of two Tuesday's. Having said that the Course remains a difficult place to get a really low score on. The Competition Scratch Score was 74 and the competition was deemed to be for Handicap purposes as 'Reduction only ' which shows just how difficult the course is playing at the moment. However, we don't mind difficult when we can at last take our vests, scarves, hats and waterproofs off! Although we are not putting them away in the cupboard just yet, who knows what weather is around the corner?
The winner of the Silver Division was Jo Peacock who had the lowest gross at a nett 73. Jo scored 3 birdies aswell and already is a clear leader of the birdie tree.
The Bronze Division was won by Jacqueline Salt who scored a nett 74. Many congratulations to Jacqueline on a splendid score .
