On Saturday 25 March, the Junior Section held the presentation for their Winter League which saw an excellent turn out and was well supported by juniors and parents.
The Winter League was reintroduced after a number of years and has been a huge success, since the beginning of November we’ve had an incredible 137 scores returned. Special mention goes to Austin Rogula for submitting an incredible 29 scores!
There has been a fantastic commitment from our Juniors over the winter which really supports their continued progress and bodes well for the coming season. This is demonstrated by the excellent scoring across the board and 8 of the 10 Juniors recording a personal best, some even broke this several times!
The league has been based on a Juniors’ best 5 stableford scores over the qualifying period against a 9-hole course, level par therefore being 90 points. Our top-3 Juniors were an incredible 97 under par, despite average handicap reductions of almost 30%.
Prizes were awarded to the top-3 and all Juniors that returned 5+ scores received LGC Juniors balls and tees in recognition of their efforts.
1st Place – Albie Carter – 126 points
2nd Place – Austin Rogula – 122 points
3rd Place – Oliver Carter – 119 points
On behalf of the Junior Section, I would like to thank the parents for giving up their time and their generous donations which allowed us to put on some excellent prizes. I’d also like to thank Greg and his team in the Pro Shop for their continued support of the Junior Section.
