The Spring Four-ball on Sunday the 1st May 2011 was won by Wardle & Palfreyman with a better score 66 nett, beat off some stiff competition from Alcock & Alcock (67) and Lawton & Tooth & Barlow & Clowes (68) to win the first Leek Golf Club 'major' of the year.
With conditions difficult due to the high winds and super-fast greens these two Leek veterans scored well on every hole, and finished ahead of the 66 pairs competing.
