However, the CSS increased top 74 which helped with Ladies Handicaps!

During the meal afterwards Christine Hunter-Jones from the Donna Louise Trust was presented with a cheque for £1360 which the Lady Captain has raised for the Charity during her year. Lady Captain's Charity Relay Race 12.9.11
Our Lady Captain Maria Wootton has been working hard all year to raise funds for her chosen Charity which is the Donna Louise Fund. This is a brilliant Charity which offers a range of Specialist Care and Support for Children with a shortened life expectancy and their families. They provide care and support from their purpose built home in Stoke on Trent.
On Monday 12th September 11, Maria and a team of players took to the Course to do a relay around the 18 holes. The sun was shining but the wind was quite fierce at times but the sky stayed mainly blue. The first out made good time down the first hole and indeed all the teams around the course kept the ball moving extremely well. Maria had the last putt on the 18th Hole to finish the Relay with her Husband Mike on hand to stop the clock.
The final putt was holed on 79 minutes and 58 seconds exactly! A great time and well played by all.
As well as Maria and Mike Wootton the others who helped out on the day were Tony Brindley (Club Captain), and his wife Gerry. Marilyn Boulton, Frances Lilley, Myra Williams, Gill Armstrong, Tina Edwards, Susan Watson, Anita Wainwright and Deb Barnett.

Ladies June Medal
Tuesday 7th June and the June Medal competition was played by 39 Ladies. The weather was again a mixed bag of sunshine, showers and wind ! This seems to be the norm at the moment.
The Stand Out score was an excellent 68 by Pat Beeson in the Bronze Division. This was by far and away the best score of the day. Many congratulations to Pat who won the Bronze division and also had her Handicap reduced to 24.
Mags Brock also had an Handicap reduction to 28. What is interesting about this is that Mags actually had a Nil Return to her scorecard due to a 'Happening' on the 13th Hole. However, she carried on and returned her score and due to the ' Stableford adjustment' of the Handicap System these days, it enabled Mags to have the benefit of what was a really good scorecard and therefore the reduction in handicap. Very well played to Mags and to all our other Ladies a good lesson to carry on playing even after a bad score at a hole.
The Silver Division was won by Jenny Cordon who scored a very respectable 71. Well done to Jenny. The lowest Gross score on the day was by Jo Peacock who scored a gross of 75 which included 4 Birdies. The Competition Scratch Score on the day was 71.
