Taking full advantage of the easier morning weather conditions, Steve Davies & Tony Goodwin were able to post a tremendous net score of 62, to beat the other pair in their foursome on the same score, namely Howard Rigby and John Pennington by virtue of a back nine count-back of 32.
Other notable scores were Andy & Brian Tooth - 64; Andrew & Jayne Baxter - 65; Adrian McCracken & Roy Emery - 65
33 pairs ventured onto the course, despite the Open Golf and atrocious weather later in the day.
Special mention must be made of Phill & Lisa Davies and Simon & Pip Nadin, who were last seen disappearing down the first fairway with a force 10 gale and horizontal sleet lashing at their bodies. No comfortable sitting watching golf and drinking the odd Peroni for them when there's golf to be played!
There were 9 two's: Richard Skelson (13th); Roy Emery (4th); Ian Beeson (9th); Steve Fryer (7th & 9th); Wendy Marriott (4th); Simon Nadin (4th); John Isaacs (13th) and Paul Brass (13th)-well done to them
These scores have been posted to 'how-did-I-do?' and be accessed through the fron of this website.
